It is with great sadness, that I have to report that Norman Ames passed away this morning.
Norman, was secretary for a great number of years in addition to being one of the society’s stalwarts, and will be missed by a great many people.
Terry Page, one of the Society’s former Presidents who was a personal friend of Norman’s, will be writing an obituary in due course
The Society is pleased to announce that issue 102 of the British Journal of Russian Philately was posted to members on 16 November. CDROMs will be distributed shortly afterwards.

The President (and organiser of the ‘Oktober Weekend’ events) Terry Page, thanked our Guests of Honour Misha Alishabaya & Dr Hans Grigoleit for travelling from Moscow and Weisbaden respectiverly, and giving such an informative and excellent display of their Batum collections, the President also thanked all those whom had displayed and also gave special thanks to Thomas Berger for travelling from Swizterland to share more of his collection with us. The Oktober Weekend 2011, was attended by some 20+ members and guests
