You are cordially invited to attend our 2017 Annual London meeting and get-together which will take place at the Union Jack Club, Sandell Street, SE1 8UJ on SATURDAY 7th OCTOBER. This year two of our long-standing members, President Lenard Tiller and Edward Klempka FRPSL have agreed to present major displays which will include important material from their collections:
World War I – Delayed and Suspended Mail – Mute cancellations (EK)
Azerbaijan 1917-23 (EK)
The Zemstvo District of Gadiach (EK)
Latvia – The 1st Independance – Covers and Stamps (LT)
The Wenden Townpost (LT)
There will also be plenty of time for Members’ Displays so do feel free to bring along your own material – anything from a single stamp or cover up to any number of sheets, and do not worry if your collection is rather modest – you almost certainly have something of interest to show (or even perhaps to sell in the bourse).
The programme will start at 10am and continue into the afternoon with a break for lunch. For those who wish to join together for dinner afterwards, a table has been reserved at the nearby Brasserie Blanc (located behind the Royal Festival Hall).
Overnight accommodation is available at the Union Jack Club (020 7928 6401 – abo@ujclub.co.uk ); you are advised to reserve as soon as possible and do mention that you are attending the meeting in order to qualify for the special discounted rate.
Sadly this year I will not be able to meet you personally as I will be visiting family in Australia however our President, Lenard Tiller will be “in the chair” and is greatly looking forward to welcoming you. I hope everyone will enjoy having the opportunity to meet and mix with like-minded colleagues whilst enjoying some great philatelic displays.
