We are saddened to announce the passing of Robin Calvert who died on Monday 27th January. Robin, who was in his nineties, had been a member of the Society for many years and was a regular participant at our annual London meetings. A gentleman of the “old school”, he was always extremely modest about his philatelic knowledge and each year had to be pressed to display some of his interesting (usually Zemstvo related) items. Nevertheless he invariably surprised us all with a meticulous and proactive approach to his subject.
We will miss him!
